2. Cloud-Native Application Protection

Gartner recently added cloud-native application protection to its list of new categories to highlight rising trends in cloud security.
In the CSPM and CWPP paradigms convergence, CNAPPs bring application and data context to secure hosts and applications, including virtualization, containers, and server-less operations.

3. Cloud Workload Protection

It is a workload-centric security product that targets the unique protection needs of workloads in modern hybrid, multi-cloud data centers. CWPPs assist enterprises in defending their cloud-based capabilities (software solutions, resources, etc.).
System protection, threat detection, host-based segment, system integrity monitoring, and program allow lists are typical CWPP tasks. CWPPs provide management of various public cloud environments from a single terminal.
As enterprises continue to adopt DevOps-style development processes, with several revisions distributed per day or even per weak, Gartner believes workloads are getting more specialized – with shorter life spans. Proactive security is the best strategy to secure these dynamic and transient workloads.
Workloads are protected from the start with DevOps using Infrastructure as Code designs, pre-deployment threat detection, and code analysis.

4. Cloud Infrastructure Access Control

Gartner included a new category and term, CIEM, to its 2020 Cloud Security Hype Cycle. IAM is often too sophisticated and dynamic to be controlled properly by native CSP tools alone.
The developing CIEM category is intended to reduce superfluous cloud infrastructure rights and streamline least-privileged access controls across volatile, distributed cloud systems.

5. Cloud Security Posture Management Solution

Cloud security posture management (CSPM) solutions. They identify, log, report, and automate errors. These challenges typically pertain to cloud resource governance, compliance, and security.
